Evans, Jones &
Reynolds, P.C. was formed in 1986.
Even before the firm was formed, the founding
members had long since been established members of the Bar in
Nashville and in Tennessee. Clarence Evans was licensed to practice
law in 1942 but immediately reported for active duty in World
War II. After serving in the United States Air Force and receiving
the Distinguished Flying Cross, he returned to Nashville and began
practicing law in 1946. His father, Giles L. Evans, was a practicing
lawyer in Tennessee and in Nashville until 1937, when he suffered
an untimely death as the result of a sudden illness. Giles L.
Evans was President of the Tennessee Bar Association in 1919-1920.
Richard Jones served in the United States Air
Force during 1951-1957 and began practicing law in Nashville during
1960. At the time that the firm was formed, Mr. Jones had practiced
law in Nashville for more than 26 years.
The other founding members of the firm were Winston
Evans, who began practicing law in Nashville during 1978, and
Allen Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds began practicing law in his hometown
of Montgomery, Alabama during 1980. In 1982, he moved to Nashville,
where he has practiced law since that time.
Since 1999, the firm has been listed by Martindale-Hubbell
in the Bar Register of Pre-Eminent Lawyers. Six of the firm’s
9 lawyers have achieved the rating of “AV,” which
is the highest rating that Martindale-Hubbell bestows on individual
lawyers.
The firm has formed a nucleus of lawyers with
a wide range of skills. For example, Allen Reynolds practices
in the areas of federal and state taxation, estate planning, and
business transactions. Richard Jones practices primarily in estate/probate,
domestic, and real-estate matters.
The other members of the firm practice primarily in civil litigation,
covering a broad range of matters. Some of those matters include
appeals, contract disputes, business torts, legal-malpractice
defense, creditors’ rights, identity theft, securities arbitration
and litigation, landlord/tenant disputes, administrative and regulatory
matters, copyright, trademark, and medical malpractice. The firm also represents individuals
who have suffered serious personal injury (or death) as the result
of work-related accidents or as the result of negligence/intentional
misconduct by third parties.
The clients of the firm range from individuals
and small businesses to publicly-held companies. Steeped in its
proud and long-standing tradition, Evans, Jones & Reynolds
looks forward to building on that tradition and serving its clients
for many years to come.
